Dr. Shin was one of the pioneers in incorporating minimally invasive vein procedures in Houston. He has been treating varicose veins for more than ten years and has performed thousands of successful operations for varicose vein management. Dr. Shin is an expert in current innovative procedures in vascular surgery and minimally invasive endovascular techniques. He specializes in treating varicose veins and venous disease. If anyone has ever developed phlebitis, they will tell you how scarry this condition might be. It happened to me while I was recovering from a major and unrelated surgery. My surgeon took great care to make sure this did not happen, and I thought I followed all the post op rules. I still developed phlebitis. I was very fortunate to become a patient of Dr. Shin during this time. He not only managed my new acute problem, but carefully coordinated my care with my surgeon and PCP. His attention to my new condition assured that I received the best care possible and that I obtained the best outcomes for everything. That coordination was a key element to the success of my surgery and to resolving my acute problem. Dr Shin always made it a point to make sure that I understood that I should never hesitate to call him if I thought that things were getting worse or not progressing. This was also important to me as I am 1,500 miles from home and family. I will always be grateful to Dr. Shin and his staff for his care and considerations. I am also realizing the importance of "good vein health" and I will be coming back to see him to make sure I am as heathy as I can be. Thank you Dr. Shin!

Sr. Calvillo, Tuve un gran prevelegio de conoce Dr. David Shin en relacion de mis piernas. Comienze un dia con un cansancio durante el dia, y aveces no podia suportarlas. El me reviso mis piernas que solamente se tomo una visita para la consulta & ultrasonido. Despues del el estudio me dio la planificacion para ser un procidimiento para cura mis piernas. La experiencia fue excelente!. I had the great privilege to meet Dr. David Shin regarding my legs. It started one day with tiredness during the day and sometimes I could not tolerate it. He checked my legs and it only took him one visit for the consult and the ultrasound. After the test, he gave me a plan for a procedure to cure my legs. The experience was excellent! I am writing to thank Dr. Shin for the care and results I received on August 31, 2010 when I underwent the VNUS ClosureFast ablation of the saphenous vein in my left leg. This procedure is painless and the recuperation was swift and painless too, in fact I went about most of my regular activities within 2 days. The original varicose vein appeared in my left leg at the tender age of 14. In my youth it was a little unsightly and over time I grew to accept the pressure, swelling, and the heat generated from that vein and subsequent veins. Earlier in 2010, I developed a venous stasis ulcer and finally after that wound slowly healed I found Dr. Shin. It's been over 30 years since my first varicose vein appeared and now I am so pleased with the freedom I have from the pain and heaviness and wearing compression socks every day.
